3 Tips for Working From Home in 2021
March 2020, the first lockdown was announced in LA, and 10 months later, we are still making the most of working from home 😆. I personally love working from home, but I've had to make some minor changes to stay physically and mentally healthy.
1. Change into my day clothes
This is a big one. In the early stages of the lockdown, I had a lax attitude towards my outerwear. "It's not like anyone is going to see me anyway," I thought. It was liberating to be able to work in raggedy home clothes and my comfy slippers; however, the feeling soon got old and started affecting my motivation and productivity. Changing into my office clothes helped me create a boundary between work and home life. It's a small action, but highly effective and it’s easier than ever to have fresh, clean clothes with a service like OrangeBag that will pick up, clean, wash and fold, then deliver your laundry in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
2. Drinking water
It turns out I am not the only one feeling dehydrated while working from home. I tracked the number of cups of water I drank per day and I was shocked to find out I was averaging only 4 cups per day! I now aim for 8 cups per day and have been doing a great job of it for a whole 3 days 😉. Check out this article on the importance of water and staying hydrated.
3. Going on daily walks
I noticed that since we started working from home, I've had to make a conscious effort to hit my daily walking target. I've had to take time out of my afternoon, 30 to 60 minutes, to go on daily walks in the neighborhood. I actually reserve any phone calls I need to make for that time; combining productivity and exercise 🤩.
I hope this helps. Feel free to share with us your working-from-home tips. We are always looking for more.
