How To Starch Your Laundry Like A Pro!

If you're like most people, doing laundry is probably not your favorite chore. But we all have to do it, so we might as well learn how to do it properly! Starching your laundry is easy and only takes a few extra minutes, but there's something about a well-starched shirt that just looks and feels superior to one that isn't. Perhaps it's the crispness of the fabric or the way the light reflects off of it, but there's no denying that starched clothes look more sophisticated. In this blog post, we'll make the case for why you should be starching your clothes on a regular basis and how you can do it.

What is starch?

Starch is a natural carbohydrate that comes from plants. It is commonly used as a food thickener or as a laundry aid. When used on clothes, starch helps to stiffen fabric and gives clothes a crisp, clean look. It can also help to absorb sweat and body oils, which can keep clothes looking newer for longer.

Types of starch:

There are two main types of starch:

  1. Natural: Natural starch is made from corn, rice, potato, or wheat flour. This type of starch is better for the environment and your clothes.

  2. Synthetic: Synthetic starch is usually made from chemicals. This type of starch can sometimes leave a residue on fabric that is difficult to remove. If you decide to use it, be sure to test it on a small area of the garment first to make sure it doesn't damage the fabric.

How to starch your laundry:

Starching your clothes is actually pretty easy to do and only requires a few supplies that you probably already have around the house. All you need is some water, a spray bottle, and some liquid starch. Once you've gathered your supplies, follow these simple steps:

1) Pre-treat any areas of your clothing that are particularly soiled or stained. This will help to remove any build-up that could prevent the starch from adhering evenly to the fabric.

2) Fill a spray bottle with water and add 1-2 tablespoons of liquid starch. Shake the bottle well to mix the ingredients together.

3) Hang your garment on a clothesline or hanger and spray the fabric evenly with the starch solution. Be sure to hold the bottle about 6 inches away from the fabric to avoid oversaturating it.

4) Allow the garment to air dry completely before wearing or using it. You may want to iron it for extra stiffness (just be sure to use the correct heat setting for the fabric type).

5) Enjoy your beautifully starched laundry!

A little bit of starch can go a long way! Just a few sprays can make your clothes look and feel great. Plus, it's easy to do and only requires a few household items that you probably already have on hand. So what are you waiting for? Give starching a try the next time you do laundry!
